Rook Coffee

Today I went to Rook Coffee in Oakhurst, NJ.  Rook Coffee is very well known in Jersey but I had never tried it before today.  From the research I did before going, I noticed they have a lot of locations, I counted 12.  The location I went to had a good rating on google being a 4.7/5 stars on google, which I feel has been a common theme in all of the reviews I have done.  I have seen Rook all over social media, especially from influencers including Alix Earle who raves about Rook, and I was really convinced to try it for myself.

Rooks' menu consists of only cold brew, which is different from the kinds of coffees I normally get.  They do a lot of seasonal flavors, the ones they have right now include s’mores and pumpkin.  Their other cold brew blends include vanilla, mocha, New Orleans style, and traditional style.  They also have a lot of creamer options including almost every variety of milk and creamer you can get at most coffee shops.

Due to the coffees they have here, I had to switch up my order from my usual lattes I got, and I was excited to branch out with different flavors and kinds of coffee.  I got the s’mores cold brew with regular whole milk and light sweetener because when I was ordering, I found out that their cold brews are completely unsweetened, which I found interesting because I was expecting s’mores to be a very sweet flavor but it isn’t.  I normally am not one who likes sweet coffee, or sweet drinks in general so I actually loved the fact that it was unsweetened.  

The location I went to didn’t have a lot of staff working, I think there were about 2 or 3 people behind the counter but I was in and out within 5 minutes and was very pleased with how the staff treated me.  I had some questions about what I was ordering because I had never been there before and it isn’t my normal coffee order so I felt I didn’t have much knowledge about what I was ordering and wanted to know what I would like the most based on my usual coffee orders.  I really enjoyed the coffee I got and was very pleased with the flavor I got, it was definitely my favorite coffee I have gotten so far, by far.  There weren't any seating options in the store so, this is definitely more of a grab and go coffee shop but, that's not something that bothers me.

I was very pleased with the whole experience I had at Rook and will 100% be going back, and this may be my new regular spot.  I am very excited to try more flavors that they offer, especially the seasonal ones.  I was very happy with the service I got and how much I liked the coffee I got from here, and I am interested in their other locations, and if I would have the same experience at other locations.  My overall rating for Rook Coffee is a 10/10, as I really loved everything about this experience, and I will definitely be going back.
