Booskerdoo Coffee Co.

Today I went to Booskerdoo Coffee Co. in Asbury Park, NJ.  I have never heard of this coffee shop before, and found it on google when searching for coffee shops near me.  Just like the other coffee shops I have reviewed so far, this shop has a rating of 4.7/5 stars on google.  The first thing I immediately noticed when I walked in was that this location is under some sort of construction, even though they are still open for business.  After researching this business, I found they have multiple locations and from my research, I found 8 locations across the Jersey Shore, and parts of New York.

When looking at the menu online before I actually went to the shop, I noticed a lot of their products say ‘contain nuts’ which coming from someone with allergies, made it more difficult to find something on the menu so I felt I didn't have many options.  I got an iced caramel latte, which was one of the only flavor options it seemed it was okay for me to have but, I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was.  This was one of my favorite coffees I have had from a local shop and will definitely be going back for more coffees.

Although I liked the coffee I got, I felt that the staff was not very welcoming or friendly.  I wasn’t really acknowledged by any of the staff and it didn’t feel like a very welcoming environment overall.  There was no seating in the shop and it felt kind of just like a place where you grab your coffee and go.  As I brought up already, the place was under construction and seemed kind of unsanitary considering they were making drinks and food right near stuff flying everywhere with the construction going on.  The floors were very dusty and just overall unclean looking near where they have all of their coffee grounds which honestly, kind of just grosses me out and makes me think about all the particles that could be getting in the food and drinks.

I really liked the coffee I got from this coffee shop but, I feel that a lot of other factors made me not as pleased with the experience I had here.  Between the unfriendly staff I experienced and the overall uncleanliness of the place, I don't know how likely I would be to recommend anyone to go there.  If you don’t care about the service as much as the taste of a good coffee, it is definitely worth trying out because I did genuinely really enjoy the coffee I got as it has been one of my favorites throughout this whole journey of trying out different local shops.

My overall rating for Booskerdoo Coffee Co. would have to be a 6/10.  I feel that you can get better service at other local places and have a better experience elsewhere.  I really enjoyed the coffee I got, and would be willing to try the company again, maybe at another location along the shore.  Overall, I had a fairly okay experience at Booskerdoo Coffee Co., and would be willing to give another location a chance to have a better experience than the one I went to today.
